Wedding Menu Card Ideas
What is a wedding name menu card?
As the name suggests, the name-menu card is a combination of your wedding menu and name placecards. They are a cost effective and unique way to decorate your tables.
How should I word my name menu card?
At the top of your name menu card, your guest’s first name is printed in large lettering, followed by your menu in smaller print.
Start with the appetizer, followed by main course (including vegetarian option) and the desert. Don’t forget to put tea and coffee at the bottom if it is going to be available.
You may also choose to put what beverages are available.
If you are having a buffet style dinner, you may want to list the buffet choices and beverages that are being offered.
Can I add extra information onto the name menu cards?
Show your creative side on your wedding name-menu cards with a quote at the bottom. It can be anything from a thank you to your guests, your names and wedding date or a quote that you feel reflects your special day. It’s an easy way to add your personal touch to your wedding stationery.
What size should I print my cards in?
The Name-Menu cards can either be square (120 x 120mm) to be placed onto your guests dinner plate, or DL (99 x 210mm) which fits perfectly onto a folded napkin.
A gift for your guests
Name-menu cards make a great keepsake for you and your guests. You will find at the end of the night that most of the name-menu cards have been taken home by your guests!
What design should my name-menu cards be in?
The theme from your wedding invitations should be carried through to your wedding day. If you are having an outdoor wedding, give your cards a subtle hint of your theme. For example a vineyard wedding might have a vine running through the cards.
The name and menu wording must be clear, as the guests are going to use the cards to find their place at the tables.
When should I order my name-menu cards?
The name-menu cards will be one of the last stationery items you need to order. Most wedding venues won’t confirm the final menu until 6 weeks prior to your wedding date. Also, you will need to wait for your RSVPs to be returned so you have the names to put onto your cards. Order the cards as soon as you have both the names and the menu – don’t leave it to the last minute, as most orders take around 3 weeks to complete.
